Trudy Ramjattan, MD has been a board-certified ophthalmologist for close to 15 years. She enjoys working closely with her patients and their families to restore or maintain their full visual potential. Dr. Ramjattan specializes in cataract surgery and focuses on optimizing ocular health. She believes in integrated medical care and frequently communicates with her patients’ primary care doctors and specialists to ensure they are getting the best care possible.
Dr. Ramjattan received her medical degree from the University of Florida. She served her internship at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia and completed her residency with the University of Florida Department of Ophthalmology which included training at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, Lake City VA Medical Center and Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. She is on staff at Pasadena Surgery Center.
In 2008, she was awarded third place in the National Bloomberg Memorial Competition for Cataract/Implant Surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery. She has also enjoyed participating in medical mission trips to Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic and volunteering for the Alachua County We Care Physician Referral Network.
Dr. Ramjattan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Tampa Bay Ophthalmological Society.
On her days off, Dr. Ramjattan enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
